La Paz features the malecón, a large pedestrian sidewalk that stretches over three miles along the waterfront, allowing you to soak up the spectacular sights that dot the sea of Cortez. It is the capital of Baja California Sur and home to nearly three hundred thousand residents.

Nearby is the unblemished Isla Espíritu Santo, declared in 1995 as part of the Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Its beaches are considered some of the most pristine in the world.
