What is a Memorial Reef?
Honor a life with a unique final resting place. A Memorial Reef holds cremated remains in an undersea artificial reef monument designed to support and restore marine life for centuries to come. The cremated remains form the core “jewel” affixed inside the Memorial Reef monument. It includes a custom bronze marker with an epitaph.
Memorial Reefs can be dedicated with or without containing cremated remains for the same cost.
How Do Memorial Reefs Restore Ocean Ecosystems?
Memorial Reefs International helps support the marine environment all around the world by building underwater memorials for your loved ones. The textured surface attracts coral polyps, and the hollow interior provides shelter for marine organisms. Each reef ball expands the ocean's coral reefs, which is a desperately needed component of the marine ecosystem.
Voucher Options
A Memorial Reef may be purchased as a Voucher to use as a unique gift to honor the ocean enthusiast, to secure a permanent resting place for loved ones and/or their pets or to fulfill your own final wishes in the future at today’s prices.
For the Memorial Reef and Voucher options, location can be chosen- however, we cannot guarantee a specific dedication date, nor do we provide a viewing boat or celebration of life ceremonies. Location of choice at time of voucher redemption is subject to available permits. Those seeking a planned dedication are encouraged to review our Memorial Gathering packages. However, additional services can be added at the time of redemption with the voucher option.
