Have you recently lost a family member? Did the deceased have a strong connection to the ocean environment, a love for sea animals, a deep appreciation for the beauty of coral reefs? Haven’t made funeral arrangements yet? Or perhaps their ashes are sitting on a shelf awaiting an opportunity to create a living legacy?

Memorial Reefs International is on the search for a family in need to help us share with the world our mission to create life out of loss, and our efforts to help “blue” the planet through restoration of vital reef habitat. As part of the opening of our new Memorial Garden in Cancun, Mexico, Memorial Reefs International will produce a short video to promote our efforts. This video will document one family’s journey as their loved one becomes part of our Living Legacy.
Will you be the one to help us share our vision?

As consideration for allowing us to share your journey with the public, Memorial Reefs International will provide your loved one with a unique resting place in one of the most beautiful locations on earth, all while contributing to environmental efforts to save the worlds coral reefs. Your loved one will be given their own Reef Ball so they may live on for eternity in our Memorial Reef Garden. Due to the nature of our memorials, you must be willing to choose cremation for your loved one so the ashes can be placed inside of the Reef Ball. You must also agree to sign a release allowing Memorial Reefs International to film and photograph your experience and share it with the public.

If chosen, you and your immediate family will be given all expenses paid lodging and travel to Cancun, Mexico in February of 2018 where we will anchor your loved one’s Memorial Reef Ball in our Garden.

To be considered, send us a brief video explaining why you feel your family should be chosen. Tell us about the deceased and their connection to the ocean environment. Please share with us your thoughts on creating this living legacy and what this type of funeral arrangement would mean to you.
